Star Tell Me Pastor

Grandmothers need love too

Dear Pastor,

Greetings to you and your staff. I felt compelled to respond to a letter published on November 19. This young woman complained that her grandmother has a male friend but does not need one and she does not like him.

She even went on to say she has relayed the matter to her mother who resides in America.

Pastor, the way I see it, who is this girl to dictate how her grandmother lives her life. First, she is a guest in her grandmother's house and a guest does not make rules. It has been my observation that women (particularly the ones who have no objective direction in life), always object to other people's love life. She stated that she has a small child. I am certain her grandmother was not allowed to select her child's father. I gather, from her letter, that she is probably unemployed, not educating herself and living at her grandmother's house.

This young woman is absolutely out of order and should find her own place in a hurry. Thank you, pastor, for letting me vent.

Dear N.F.,

You are very hard on this young woman. I believe she would say she is objecting to her grandmother's friend because she is concerned about her. She doesn't want her to be used by any man. However, I do agree that she has gone too far. She ought not to try to choose for her grandmother. Many young people believe after folks have become senior citizens, they have no need for love and companionship.

This lady ought to leave her grandmother alone, keep out of her business and be respectful to her grandmother's friend.

Pastor
