Artiste Demarco is now grieving the loss of his mother, Gloria Edwards, who passed away early yesterday morning.

Mrs Edwards, who resided in Maryland, had been ailing for some time with cancer.

The artiste, whose given name is Collin Demar Edwards, reportedly shared a very close relationship with his mother. Mrs Edwards passed away while the artiste was preparing to leave for a show at the Independence Stadium in Gambia, Africa.

His management team has since cancelled the performance and issued an apology to the promoters.

Demarco's publicist, Raymond 'Shadow' Small, is asking members of the media, entertainment fraternity and the wider public to respect his privacy and that of his family as they grieve the loss of his mother.
