An emotional Deron 'Ron' Muschette has announced that he will be moving to Montego Bay-based radio station Mello FM on January 5.

The disc jockey will occupy the time slot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Muschette joins the radio station which is home to powerhouses like Richie B and Barry G.

The announcement was made by Muschette yesterday on the Facebook page for his blog site.

In the more than seven-minute emotional video, a teary-eyed Muschette thanked his fans locally and abroad as well as the people of Ocho Rios, St Ann, for being loyal to him while at Irie FM.

Muschette said his decision to leave required a lot of thinking, but said that it ultimately had to be made.

This new fixture, dubbed the 'Perfect Mix with Ron Muschette' will see the disc jockey playing pop music such as Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, among others.

"It's a nice mixture of various genres with the same message. Listeners will definitely have their 'strong songs'," Muschette said, via an email to THE WEEKEND STAR.

Muschette, who resigned with immediate effect last week, remained coy as to whether he did not see eye to eye with the management of Irie FM which prompted his departure.

"If everything was ok, and I thought Irie FM deserve me, would I go? Who you know run from good or progress? Rasta no fool," he said.
