It's Jada'sfabuloustour

Apprentice O'Brien White

UNITED STATES-bred JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR has a grand chance to steal tomorrow's Paul Newman Memorial at a mile after placing second in four of her last five races.

The speedy filly will carry 48.0 kilos, the lightest in the eight-horse line-up, with hot apprentice O'Brien White called in by trainer Leroy Tomlinson.

Caught by rivals, from seven furlongs to 1820 metres, in four of five races since May, JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR has remained consistent and, most of all, sounder than most in the $450,000 claiming group.

However, she has been the victim of hurried rides on more than one occasion, especially in the Alty McKenzie Memorial, November 1, when she went eight lengths clear under Robert Halledeen and was caught close home by COLD GROUND.

Dick Cardenas did a far better job last time out, November 30, when the five-year-old mare was outbattled by back-to-form UNBREAKABLE at 1820 metres.

Down-in-class EASTWOOD and MERU represent the early speed capable of keeping JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR honest. However, they are allowing the United States-bred mare 13 and 11lb, respectively, going outside their middle distance comfort zones of up to six and a half furlongs when at their best.

Another local-bred, TECHNOCAT, has also been lowered in class for a crack at the one-mile event. However, similar to EASTWOOD and MERU, he is allowing JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR weight, 13lb, and runs his best races up to a distance of seven furlongs.

A seasoned sprinter-stayer, JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR, will not be shy to take the race to her heavier rivals at a mile, a distance at which she will be super comfortable with 48.0 kilos.

Though White is a patient lad who doesn't waste his bug down the backstretch, JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR's best chance is not to hang around with 48.0 kilos. An enterprising ride should take her clear of rivals down the backstretch.

Her natural speed and light impost will allow White to dictate fractions, forcing the heavier middle-distance horses into the pace too early for their liking.

Mainly run-on sprinters, EASTWOOD, MERU and TECHNOCAT all have spotty form and must be suspect in a hot and sustained pace being set by the light and fit JADA'SFABULOUSTOUR.
