Fun in the Son seeks US venue |

Organisers want to take show international Rasbert Turner, Star Writer The promoters of the annual Best Dress Fun in The Son festival said the time has come for expansion to other parts of the world to realise its full potential. According to chief executive officer, Jamaica Broilers (JB), Christopher Levy, the latest expansion is being sought in the United States of America. ''While we are doing well in Haiti where the show will be held this year, we are desirous of going into the US market to get the support, where volume of attendance is concern. There is 10 million population in Haiti. however, the US market has boundless potential, and 10 years is enough for us to know that, '' Levy said. search under way While not giving a timeline, the CEO said the search is underway, and this would result in the festival in Jamaica being held every three years instead two, as is now the case where it alternates between Jamaica and Haiti. He said Best Dress Fun in The Son forms part of the Christian principal of the JB group, and there is no time for the company to do anything than to continue its spiritual growth. Levy said the festival has become a household name for many who travel far and wide to attend the show, which was held in Portmore, St Catherine, last year. ''The festival has provided for many. therefore, to multiply the great effect it has had, we intend to target the niche market for the product to saturate the minds of Christians and others alike," Levy said. For years, the festival, which is free, has showcased the very best in gospel music. It has being widely supported with patrons coming out in their
hundreds.
