Two hoodlums killed during robbery attempt

Two men who tried to rob a gaming lounge along the Ewarton main road in St Catherine were shot and killed by a licensed firearm holder on Tuesday.

Reports are that, about 6:50 a.m., a businessman was at his establishment when a car drove up with three men. Two alighted, entered the outlet and started to rob persons. The businessman was held at gunpoint and was being taken to another section of the building when the gunmen were challenged by a licensed firearm holder. Both robbers were shot fatally.

Checks revealed that three employees were injured in the incident and were taken to a nearby hospital.

The police confirmed the seizure of two illegal guns.

While not confirming the identities of those killed, the police said they are from the Corporate Area.

Further investigation is being undertaken by the St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force.
