Chug It delivers on 5th anniversary

Hosted on Sunday at Sugarman's Beach in Portmore, Chug It anniversary lived up to expectations as patrons were treated to exciting music and inclusive liquor for only $1,000.

At 9 p.m., dancehall songs blared from Chromatic Sound and early patrons danced the night away.

The females were out in their numbers while their male counterparts were seen at the bars, exploiting the liquor-inclusive deal.

Popular DJ Creep Chromatic kept the action on the dance floor going and he got good responses, especially when he played Vybz Kartel's singles.

At 9:30 p.m., Hyper Active sound took over and they delivered an entertaining set comprised of hip hop, reggae and hardcore dancehall. Dancing songs were the highlight of their set, receiving strong responses for Flippa Moggla's Moggla, Ding Dong's Shampoo and Syvah, as well as Bling Dawg's Kreech. Selecting duo HQ and DJ Gangster also had patrons bubbling with excitement when they played a medley of Elephant Man dancing singles.

Dancehall artiste Aidonia along with his JOP artistes, performed some minutes after 10 p.m. The deejay received strong responses for his catalogue of gunslinging lyrics. However, it was his female dance songs which had the ladies in a frenzy, as they rushed the stage to dance with the artiste. Aidonia also paid homage to Bounty Killer before introducing his signed artistes. of the lot, Deablo showed the most promise, going toe to toe lyrically with his mentor, to roars of approval.

Organiser of the event Andrew French, who travelled with an entourage of women, spoke to The STAR after the celebration. He said Chug It is unapologetically the number-one beach party in the island. According to the promoter, the event has pulled as much as 20,000 patrons to the venue.

He also stated that, for 2015, he would amp up the production value, as well as introduce a flossing lounge which will offer premium beverages.

"I am thankful for the support. tonight the place was packed beyond capacity, and this is what we expected. This is the biggest beach event in Jamaica,and we know that for a fact. We just bring happiness to the country and we keep it real. We want to big up the media. Chug It was a big success and it will continue to be a big success. We will also take the experience to other places in the island, and Mandeville will be one of those places," French said.
