Tom Laing tops the charts with 'Front Door'

New York-based reggae singer Tom Laing continues to dominate the charts.

He recently topped the Foundation Radio Network Top 30 Music Chart in New York with his cover of Gregory Isaacs Front Door.

The single, which was produced by respected studio musician/producer Doni Marshall for Laing's Top Tier label, has occupied the number one spot on the chart for the past two weeks.

Front Door is also enjoying much popularity in Florida, where it is number eight on the South Florida Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart.

In Jamaica Front Door is in the number 14 spot on the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart.

Tom Laing is pleased with the success of the single and hopes that it will continue to grow in popularity.

"I am very pleased to see that the song is doing so well, I'm hoping that it will cross over into other markets. I think it has the potential to be an international hit," he said.

According to the soft-spoken singer who is originally from Trench Town, the remake of Front Door was done as a mark of respect for Gregory Isaacs, who passed away five years ago

"When I recorded this song I did it to show my respect for Gregory Isaacs, he was an amazing singer and a very talented songwriter. The world will forever miss him, he was a one-of-a-kind singer and very nice person," said Laing.
