Police call on victims of accused fraudster

Detectives from the Elletson Road Police Station are seeking the public's assistance in locating victims of a fraudster who has been targeting persons across the island.

He goes by the names Nigel Thompson, Niguel Samuels, Niguel Lindsay and Brian Samuels.

Detectives began unravelling the scheme last month, when a businesswoman reported being fleeced by the accused. He was later arrested and charged with obtaining money by fraud, uttering forged documents and impersonating the police. He pleaded guilty last Wednesday.

Further investigations suggest that this individual has targeted taxi operators, bus operators and operators of betting shops, posing as a policeman and convincing them to hand over varying sums of cash.

The police are therefore asking anyone who may have been a victim or anyone with information that can assist them in their investigations to call the Elletson Road police at 928-4200, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
