Four killed in Braco main road crash

Up to late last night, police would not release the names of the four men who died in a motor vehicle accident along the Braco main road in Trelawny yesterday.

The men are said to be hotel workers and were reportedly from foreign countries.

Our news desk understands that all four men were employed to the Bahia Principe Hotel in Pear Tree Bottom, St Ann. The deceased men are from the Dominican Republic and Spain. THE STAR gathered that one of the men was a manager at the hotel and the other three electrical engineers.

The police told THE STAR last night that they have identified the men. They are, however, withholding the names for undisclosed reasons.

Tractor trailer

Our news team was told that the crash occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that the men were travelling in a Toyota Yaris motor car towards St Ann's Bay when they collided into a tractor trailer travelling in the opposite direction.

The four men were transported to hospital where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor trailer is said to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, The Braco main road, which forms part of the North Coast Highway, is a well-known crash hotspot which the police frequently issue warnings for motorists to drive with care along the busy thoroughfare.
