Two motorcyclists killed in separate incidents

The deaths of two motorcyclists in separate motor vehicle crashes on Friday have triggered a fresh appeal from the police for greater caution on the roadways.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has also published a number of safety tips it says motorcyclists should observe.

Among them is an appeal to wear helmets fitted with reflective tapes along with bright-coloured clothing.

The JCF says motorcyclists should always keep their headlights on and ride in lane positions where their can easily manoeuvre their vehicle and where they can be easily seen by other motorists.

Sixty-year-old Leon Hibbert, of a St Catherine address, and 19-year-old Oraine Johnson, of a St Elizabeth address, were killed after they lost control of their motorcycles in separate incidents.
