MARC STAMP, STAR Writer

HUMBLE Lion edged Tivoli Gardens 1-0 to move clear into fourth position in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) at Edward Seaga Complex, yesterday.

The win pushed Humble Lion on to 41 points, while Tivoli Gardens remained on 38 points in fifth position. Francois Swaby scored his first goal for Humble Lion in the 45th minute.

Leaders Arnett Gardens moved closer to a spot in the RSPL following a 1-1 draw against Montego Bay United in a top clash at the Anthony Spaulding Complex yesterday.

Andrew Phang netted a penalty in the 38th minute in a late game, while Dino Williams also converted from the penalty spot in the 90th minute. Arnett Gardens pushed to 52 points in pole position for a spot in the top-four semi-final stage. Montego Bay are in third position on 44 points

Waterhouse defeated Sporting Central 3-1 at Juici Park in Clarendon. The Waterhouse team stayed in second place on 47 points. Former national striker Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson scored a brace to lead Waterhouse to victory.

Penalty kick

Anderson netted in the seventh, and a penalty kick in the 49th minute, while Damarley Samuels also scored in the 12 minute. Kevon Atkinson scored for Sporting Central in the 15th minute.

Sporting Central remained in 10th position on 27 points, just three clear of Reno who moved to 24 points following a 2-1 win over Rivoli United at Prison Oval.

In another late game, Harbour View ended a poor run of form when they beat Barbican 2-0 at the Harbour View Stadium. Kevaughn Frater scored in the seventh minute and McKauley Tulloch (26th) for the winners. Harbour View moved on to 37 points in sixth place with a game in hand against Sporting Central. Barbican are rooted at the bottom of the table on 21 points and are in serious danger of relegation.

At the Edward Seaga Stadium, Swaby's strike handed the visitors a deserved victory as they looked more organised that the home team. Humble Lion had control of the midfield for the most part of the game.

In tonight's game to round off match day 26, eight-place Cavalier (33) host ninth-place Boys' Town at Stadium East, starting at 8:30.
