Bermaddy Primary claim Roy Lee Under-13 grass roots competiton

BERMADDY Primary School in rural St Catherine were crowned champions of the second staging of the Roy Lee Under-13 Grass Root Football competition.

The Deangelo Gordon-coached team saw Bermaddy defeating Rosemount Primary one goal to nil last Wednesday.

The competition which was at the Bramwell Clarke Community Centre in Ewarton was played over a two-month period.

"It was a 14 team competition where teams played 15 minutes per half. It was filled with sheer excitement for each game, " Gordon said.

The school was very dominant winning three sectional prizes, Most Valuable Player Kevon Sharpe, Adrian McFarlane Best Goal Keeper, and Dujon Clarke Best defender.

"We feel good to be the winner of the competition and a feel even better for the sectional prize," Sharpe said.

The competition was held in memory of the late Linstead businessman and football administrator Roy Lee.

"The competition was well supported throughout as it helps to enhance learning through sports and also honoured the name of a man who have done so much for football,"principal, Norman Howell, said.
