Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

An investigation is under way to ascertain the persons involved in the removal of a seized motorcycle from the Spanish Town Police Station.

Reports are that a Wassy motorcycle, also called 'John Crow', was reported stolen. Police investigators retrieved the bike in a section of Spanish Town.

The bike was taken to the Spanish Town Police Station for safe keeping. The registered owner later turned up and identified the motorcycle.

He was sent for documents to proved ownership when checks revealed that it was not on the station's compound.

An internal investigation was launched, which revealed that the vehicle was unlawfully handed to persons connected to the initial seizure.

The Star learnt that investigators put their colleagues under pressure and the bike was returned to the station compound.

The owner refused to accept the motorcycle as several parts were removed from it.

It was reported to the inspectorate of Constabulary, which have since launched an investigation in the matter.
