Two charged with scamming

Lawmen attached to the Black River Police Station have charged two persons under the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act with knowingly possessing identity information on Monday.

They are 23-year-old Kimarley Rowe, chef, and 26-year-old Kayon Rodney, businessman, both of Fyffes Pen, Brompton in St Elizabeth.

Reports are that about 5:30 a.m., last Saturday, during an operation, the premises occupied by both men was searched and 12 sheets of paper containing identity information of persons living in the United States of America were found at the house. Paraphernalia related to lottery scamming activities to include cellular phones were also seized. The men were subsequently arrested and charged.

They are scheduled to appear before the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court today.
