Cops investigate Manor Park shooting

Bjorn Burke, Staff Reporter

Detectives from the Constant Spring Police Station are probing Monday's shooting of a man in Manor Park, St Andrew.

THE STAR understands that several gunshots were fired around 5:30 p.m., injuring one man.

When THE STAR contacted the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the details surrounding the shooting remained sketchy.

"We can only confirm at this time that there was a shooting incident in Manor Park," said the CCU representative, who concluded that investigators were reportedly still on the scene.

The injured man was reportedly taken to hospital, where he was treated.

Lengthy delays

A resident told THE STAR that the man was reportedly shot in Manor Park, in the vicinity of Grosvenor Terrace, which was cordoned off by police personnel.

As a result of the incident, motorists experienced lengthy delays in Constant Spring and surrounding areas due to the police blocking off one side of the roadway to facilitate crime scene investigations.

This incident comes on the heels of the death of a man in Manor Park last Sunday evening.

The man, who is yet to be identified, was reportedly killed near a roundabout in the area at approximately 5 p.m.

Investigations continue.
