Calabar, JC, KC plan 'Three-The-Hard-Way'

Shane Fairman, STAR Writer

A massive 'Three-The-Hard-Way' '70s, '80s and '90s retro party will be hosted by the old boys associations of Kingston College (KC), Jamaica College (JC) and Calabar High at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, JC on March 20.

The inaugural staging of this historic fundraiser party will be held just four days before this year's Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships at the National Stadium.

Organisers of the event are hoping to set the tone for a 'good vibes, exciting, camaraderie-filled and incident free' five days of Champs.

Musical juggling and entertainment will be provided at 'Three the Hard Way' by established acts from each school. Rory from Calabar will be spinning his discs on the turntables of Stone Love, while DJ Squeeze will represent JC and Marlon Young will don the purple and white of his alma mater KC.

All proceeds will be shared among the respective schools and associations. The hope is that the party will become an annual affair.

Patrick Dallas, president of the Kingston College Old Boys Association (KCOBA) is hoping for a bumper turnout as well as building the ideal "vibes for champs."

"We are using this event to show that we are rivals but friends. It will be a function to re-unite old boys and their friends of all the three top boys schools in the island," he said.

Dallas added that next year's staging will be hosted by Kingston College at Clovelly Park, on North Street.

"Proceeds will be shared among the three schools, and it is equally open to all of Jamaica to attend," Dallas explained, while noting that the party will be moved around among the three schools in coming years.

The five-day ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championships will be held at the National Stadium from March 24-28.
