Promoter donates cash to Champs schools

Young promoter Kashmani Lawrence, recently handed over two cash vouchers valued at $100,000 each, to prominent high schools Calabar and Immaculate Conception.

According to the Kashmani, who is currently promoting an after Champs event called Velocity, his donation to the schools, is geared at assisting with preparations for champs.

Velocity is being promoted as the Official after Champs Event, and is set for Saturday at the National Arena.

Kashmani says the event is already buzzing among the high-school population, and also pointed out that Velocity is committed to track and field development.

"I got the relevant student bodies involved through social media via a picture liking competition. The schools that received the most likes on social media were selected winners," he said.

As for Velocity, the promoter will provide transport for patrons to Half-Way-Tree, St Andrew, Portmore and Spanish Town, St Catherine and downtown Kingston after the event.

Presold tickets will cost patrons $700 and $1000 at the gate, while VIP tickets will attract a $2000 fee. Ding Dong and Chi Ching Ching are booked to perform.
