DJ Slimmatic a force to be reckoned with

Contributed - DJ Slimmatic

Despite the name, it is rather ironic that DJ Slimmatic is not a thin man.

Born Omille Monteith, the Southfield, St Elizabeth native has been throwing upward punches in the entertainment industry.

As he casually glances skyward, Slimmatic, 29, recalls playing in small bars in his community to playing at events known across the Jamaican diaspora. The usually introverted DJ proudly exclaimed that he is now a force to be reckoned with.

Slimmatic has worked with internationally recognised sound systems such as Stone Love and Bass Oddyssey. A familiar face at office parties and campuses, it was while studying at the Knox Community College that he realised that with his rare, yet unique talent, he could reach plausible places.

He established himself as a disc jock on campus and the students demanded his cutting-edge selections.

"You have to be versatile" admitted Slimmatic.

"The party patrons demands cutting edge entertainment. "

As far back as memory permits, Slimmatic has been creating a vast library of music not limited to remastered, but originals as well.

"I have been collecting music since the days of tapes and records, it's a big library," he chuckled, adding that he is aiming to become world-renowned within the next five years.
