Two men were taken into custody in Manchester following the seizure of 500 pounds (227 kilograms) of ganja valuing $2.5 million on Tuesday.

A team of police officers in the Manchester division unearthed the find during an operation on the Melrose Hill main road in the parish.

Reports are that, about 7:30 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Corolla motor car, with a passenger, was signalled to stop.

He complied and a search was conducted where knitted plastic bags were found containing the illicit drug. The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigations.
