The Governor-General's Programme for Excellence (GGPE) is pleased to announce the 'I Believe' Initiative's (IBI) educational partnership with Monroe College (New York) and Scotia Foundation for the secondTechnology scholarship. The scholarship covers full tuition for the duration of four years, beginning August 2015 and is tenable at the New Rochelle campus of Monroe College, New York.

Eligible candidates must be a resident Jamaican national and a graduate of a Jamaican high school or college. Additionally, they should have a minimum of seven CXC or CSEC passes at grades one and two and at least three CAPE passes at grades one, two and three. Candidates should also possess a strong sense of volunteerism and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to Jamaica's growth and development. The recipient will be required to fund the full cost for living and accommodation expenses for the duration of their study.

Qualified Jamaican students desirous of pursuing a career in information technology and wanting to be considered for the scholarship must apply to Monroe College by May 1, 2015, and be accepted. Applicants may apply online at www.monroecollege.edu. Along with the application candidates must submit their high-school transcripts, CSEC/CXC/CAPE results and two letters of recommendation. All candidates must complete an interview with a Monroe College admissions counsellor via phone or Skype.
