Dancehall-reggae artiste Chinsu is making waves stateside with a single called 'Mi Have The Leathering', which is getting spins on Internet radio stations in the US, and it has been added to the playlist of a major hip hop station in Baltimore, 92Q.

"It's a great look, my management submitted the song, and met all the guidelines, so this will boost my career," Chinsu, who is signed to Maryland-based indie label, Davgion Music, said.

In the meantime, a video for Mi Have The Leathering, originally released on the Davgion Music label last August, has been submitted to major video platforms in the US.

"The video has been sent to MTV and MTV JAMS by our distributors and it has been accepted. Keep your telescope tuned if you have those cable channels," the 24 year-oldsaid.

The single peaked in the top 10 in week 35 on Jango radio in the USA in December, and did well on local FM radio.

In the meantime, Debbie Duran, owner of Davgion Music, is enthusiastic about her young charge's progress so far.

"Baltimore's top promoter, Neville Jones who is responsible for bringing some of the biggest reggae acts to perform in the city wants Chinsuto be an opening act..so things look great, I am seeking shows for him in Jamaica as well," Duran said.

Chinsu, whose given name is David Bailey, was born on March 24, 1991. He grew up in Rivoli in Spanish Town, the only boy among four sisters, so he spent his spare time writing songs.
