Clarendon murder toll rises

The murder toll in Clarendon continues to rise with the latest victim being a man in the northern community of Frankfield on Saturday night.

He is 21-year-old Clayton Howell of Cow Pen district in the parish.

The Star's news correspondent reports that Howell was in the town Saturday evening when an explosion was heard in a crowd sometime about 7 o'clock. When the crowd dispersed, Howell was found suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The police rushed him to the Spalding hospital where he died.

No motive has been established for the killing.

The killing comes while the parish is still trying to come to terms with the murder of three teenage boys and a 35-year-old man in Money-musk Housing Scheme last week. Last ast month, a 32-year-old female school warden was also shot to death in front of school children also in Frankfield.
