Co-worker beaten for cheesy feet

A man who admitted that he assaulted a colleague because his shoes was giving off a foul odour was fined $8,000 recently in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with unlawful wounding is Marlon Chang.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and offered the court an explanation.

Chang said, "Your Honour. He had on a shoes that smell bad. I even help him wash out another shoe last week. Your Honour. People have to pass where we work, we had an argument ..."

The court was told that during an argument, Chang used a lug tool to hit the complainant across his face. The complainant was not present in court.

Chang was fined $8,000 or six months' imprisonment. No other order was made.
