Eljai releases 'Sweet Belize'

A recent trip to his homeland served as the inspiration behind reggae singer Eljai's new single Sweet Belize. The song, produced by Dean Fraser and Bowie Carroll, is already gearing up to become a hit for the California-based artiste.

"The inspiration came from me going back home to Belize after not visiting for a long time. It was like I fell in love with Belize all over again. The vibes and the ambience were surreal, visiting the caves and some ancient Mayan sites where I used to play as a child. I decided to put my feelings into lyrics as a love letter to my country," Eljai explained.

Sweet Belize has been released on the eight-year-old independent Jahmix Entertainment label. It is being distributed through Zojak Worldwide.

To capitalise on the potential of the song, Eljai is getting ready to shoot the music video.

"There will be a video for the song and we are presently putting the logistics together. We plan on doing the video in Belize and we have several companies that we are in dialogue with. The one that comes with the strongest script for this video will be the one that we choose to work with," he said.

Eljai has been busy working on his forthcoming album The Other Sideof Eljai, due August. Stingray Records in London will be releasing his new EP.

Some of his recent performances include the Earthday Festival in San Diego, California with King Yellow Man and others and a Mothers' Day showcase in California featuring Sanchez, Wayne Wonder and others.
