Chilando for MoBay Jerk Festival this weekend

Chilando

Recording artiste Chilando is set to perform on the highly anticipated MoBay Jerk Festival at Pier 1, St James this weekend.

The artiste shared that he aims to make a major impact, on the show as he will be the only act using a personal band. He shared: "I am not just an artiste; I am an entertainer. I believe that it is important for me to show my raw talent."

Chilando recently released Life Too Short, Wah Run Road and Long Bamboo. Working with dancers such as Dancehall Queen Nikesha, Renee Six Thirty, Swa Twins, Chin Romeich and Fresh Look Models, Chilando believes that he is changing the way Jamaican artistes think about performing.

"I believe that one of the reasons we aren't taken seriously as artistes is simply because we fail to put effort into our performances. From the lighting to the music, everything must be on point," he explained.

Not only is Chilando ready to make changes, he is also on the promotional trail for the single Officer on the Jelly Water rhythm produced by DJ Frass. "This single is about a police officer who comes to a dance to shut it down and the promoters are trying to persuade him otherwise," shared Chilando. The video for Officer will be shot by award- winning director Xtreme Arts early this summer.
