Man accused of assaulting cop gets bail extension

A presumably rowdy man accused of assaulting a police officer had his bail extended when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court recently.

Charged with using abusive language, assaulting a police officer, and common assault is Parris Blair. He pleaded not guilty to the offences.

Allegations are that on the day of the incident, the accused man got confrontational with an officer who attempted to take him into custody.

He was subsequently arrested and charged.

In court, the accused man had his bail extended by Resident Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece. He is scheduled to return to court on June 4 pending a mention hearing.
