Four to be sentenced for scamming

The St Elizabeth Proactive Investigations Unit (PIU) has secured the convictions of four persons under the Law Reform (Fraudulent Conversion) (Special Provisions) Act 2013 in the St Elizabeth Circuit Court on Wednesday, June 24 and yesterday.

They are:

Twenty-six-year-old Ishmael Mullings, farmer of Elderslie district; 20-year-old Nakia Brown, farmer of Burnt Savannah district; 24-year-old Conroy Gracie, otherwise called ‘Dreamer’, farmer of Cottage district, all in St Elizabeth, and 28-year-old Timoy Salmon, bar owner of Whitehouse Gardens, Westmoreland.

Reports are that on Wednesday, June 24, Mullings pleaded guilty to knowingly possessing identity information.

His sentencing is set for today. Brown, Gracie and Salmon appeared before the court yesterday and also pleaded guilty to knowingly possessing identity information. Their sentencing is set for tomorrow, July 1.

The judge has ordered a social enquiry into all the cases before sentencing.
