Jamaica's men's Under-23 assistant coach, Jerome Waite, is pleased with his team's performance in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Olympic qualifiers after they topped Group Three in the Dominican Republic.

The Jamaica team whipped hosts Dominican Republic 4-0 on Sunday night and booked a place in the CFU final round. The Miguel Coley-coached team had beaten St Lucia 6-1 four days earlier to finish on top with six points in the three-team group.

Jamaica will play Group Two winners Cuba on August 14 in one semi-final game at a venue to be determined by CFU.

"We will have to be satisfied as the team scored 10 goals in two game and that is a big feat," Waite told STAR Sports after returning home yesterday.

Eye on Cuba

Waite said the attention is now on Cuba.

"We're looking forward to that semi-final game against Cuba in order to continue progress to the Olympic Games next year in Brazil," he added.

"The players based overseas will head back to school and their respective clubs. Then we will call them back as soon as possible," Waite said.

Michael Seaton, who also has experience at the senior level scored three goals in the two games, and Waite pointed out that he is on the right track.

"Michael has a lot of talent, as long as he stays fit, he'll always be a force to reckon with," Waite claimed.

At the completion of the CFU Final Round, the top two teams will qualify for the CONCACAF stage of the Olympic qualification.

The 2015 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying championship acts as qualification to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games men's football tournament. The top two teams qualify automatically with the third-place team advancing to a play-off against a team from CONMEBOL.
