ROC Kids Fest for tomorrow

The second annual ROC Kids Fest 2015 takes place tomorrow at the Jessie Ripoll Primary School in St Andrew and will feature a star-studded line-up of some of Jamaica's hottest acts including Sizzla, Kevin Downswell and Cherine Anderson.

This year's festival continues to use the arts and music to help raise awareness about issues affecting Jamaica's youth. The festival will create an environment where patrons can experience great music, enjoy rides and games, while satisfying their taste buds with a variety of food from community-based vendors. There is also the ROC Village, which will address academics, skills training, as well as technical and vocational interests.

The ROC Village non-profit partners are UNICEF Jamaica, the Child Development Agency, Sickle Cell Foundation, Children's First Youth Centre (Bashy Bus Cru), the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, and Cancer Conscious Youths. Participating institutions include the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Excelsior Community College, and the Caribbean Maritime Institute.

ROC Kids Fest is completely executed by volunteers under the direction of its founders Cherine Anderson and Patrick Lindsay.

Admission to this fun-filled event is only $200 for students with a flyer or an ROCiT, while general admission is $600 for adults and $400 for children. All proceeds from this event go directly towards providing scholarships and grants for students.
