A Manchester community has been plunged into mourning following a case of suspected suicide on Wednesday.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that a man is believed to have committed the act in the community of Banana Ground.

He has since been identified as 31-year-old Jermaine Thompson of an address in the parish.

When our news team contacted the Williamsfield police, reports are that about 1 a.m., residents made the gruesome discovery.

Thompson's body was found hanging from a tree.

Our news team understands that the police were alerted and the body was removed and taken to the morgue.

Investigations are ongoing.
