PROHGRES to release new EP in July

Dancehall artiste Prohgres has been locked in the studio the last few weeks working on an EP which he will be releasing this month.

“Mi a do a number of new singles that nobody has heard before for the EP. In the meantime, Body Nuh Dead a get a good ‘forward’ overseas; Body Glue is doing well in Costa Rica, New York and France; while Friend for Life is also enjoying rotation on HITZ 92, Zip and Irie FM,” Prohgres said.

Other singles include Hustler, on the Purge rhythm, which also features Kartel’s hit song, CT Scan. Another song generating interest is Heaven Your Ting De.

SONG BUZZ

Based on the buzz around his Body Glue single, Prohgres has emerged as one of the new artistes to watch because of his witty rhymes and new-age flow. Promoters have begun to recognise his talents.

He recently performed as a guest artiste on a show called ‘Beerfest’ on June 30 in Discovery Bay, St Ann. He is booked to perform on Kevin Hype anniversary and birthright bash on July 25.

“Mi love how the career look, the ting ah step up, the songs dem in rotation on radio and the promoters dem ah start look fi me to be on their shows ... is a great look,” he said.

Currently teamed with Simpac Music, also known as DJ Mudslide , the two released Body Glue and Body Nuh Dead, which have been generating heat on FM radio.

He has performed at various community stage shows in the parish of St Ann. He has done work with Cahban Records, Hard Rock Records and Tropical Records.

“Right now, mi a push my music and my brand to the next level. I have a good batch of songs and I am getting some buzz on radio,” he said.
