Employee accused of stealing gas card

A mention date was set in a matter involving a man who, while being employed to a security company, pilfered thousands of dollars using their Advance gas card.

Thirty-one year old Sheady Brown is charged with larceny as a servant.

The Crown alleges that the accused man was employed to a security firm as a driver. In order to execute his duties, he was entrusted with a vehicle and an Advance gas card.

During the investigation, it was established that the accused stole the gas card assigned to a Toyota Hiace sometime in January. Between January 9 and February 27, the accused man allegedly carried out 84 unauthorised transactions against the gas card totaling well over $500,000.

Brown was later arrested and charged.

He is to return to court on July 28.
