Ishawna, Shebada team up

Theatre fans are in for a treat this Independence weekend when one of its stars, Keith 'Shebada' Ramsay, teams up with dancehall artiste Ishawna for a series of two-for-one theatrical events islandwide.

Ishawna, who is riding a high with her hit singles, Restraining Order, Vroom Vroom, Cheerful Giver and Need Love, will perform during the intermission between the two hit plays 'Bashment Granny 3' and 'Praya Partna', featuring Michael 'Stringbean' Nicholson.

"The buzz on the shows has been great so far. This special is great value for money. You have one of the hottest females in the business, Ishawna, teaming up with 'Bashment Granny' - which is already a huge hit - and the new play, 'Praya Partner'. This is a great deal for people looking to have a good holiday weekend at a minimum price," Bunny Allen, one of the principals of BE Entertainment, said.

"Who knows? Shebada might just touch the stage and show off a few dance moves alongside Ishawna."

The first show will be held at Hotel Commingle in Sav-la-Mar on August 1; the next will be the old police station in May Pen, Clarendon, on August 2; and then climax at the Transport Centre in Ocho Rios on August 6, Independence Day.

Since his arrival on the theatre scene years ago, Keith Ramsay has been box office gold, packing theatre houses worldwide with his gender-bending antics, his sharp insults and witty one-liners.

'Bashment Granny 3' will play at the Green Gables theatre in Kingston during August.
