Two St Catherine men were found guilty of murder in the St Catherine Court on Tuesday. Those convicted are Colin Benneth and Gregory Bryan of Linstead. Dead is 45-year-old Owen Brown of West Prospect, Bog Walk.

The Crown led evidence that, on July 20, 2010, there was an argument between relatives of Brown and others related to the accused.

Brown reportedly went to the accused men's home to make enquiries. He was reportedly set upon by Bryan, Benneth and others who beat and chop him repeatedly. Brown reportedly ran to his home where he collapsed and died.

An investigation was launched which resulted in the two men being charged with murder.

The trial which lasted two weeks saw the Crown calling on a number of witnesses. Presiding judge was Justice Lennox Campbell while Crown Counsel was Karen Seymour-Johnson.

The accused were represented by attorneys-at-law Earl Hamilton and Michael Jordon.
