Goal shooters Romelda Aiken and Jhaniele Fowler-Reid have been the focal point of the Sunshine Girls' preparations for the 2015 Netball World Cup in Australia.

However, if the team is to reap the success it so madly desires, the performance of its centre court will be crucial, according to Nicole Dixon, who will make her World Cup debut in Australia.

The centre and wing attack stressed how important it will be for mid-court players to be on top of their game throughout the tournament, and insisted they are ready for the challenge.

"The ball cannot reach the shooters if the mid-court is not doing its job. We (mid-court players) will have to have patience in attack, with proper passing and consistency."

Dixon said the training they have done in preparation for the World Cup has given them real reason to feel confident ahead of the tournament, which begins on August 7.

"We will have to work hard. We have already put in the training so there is nothing else we can do apart from going there and matching up against opponents. We just have to go out and do our best," she said.

"The work that we have all put in, we are ready. The combinations have worked very well, so it doesn't matter who is out there on the court, the combinations work well," she continued.

Dixon's only international experience came during a Fast5 World Series last year, but she is excited and confident of helping the team to do well in Australia.

"I can't say (what to expect at World Cup). I will have to go and see what's there, but anytime I am on the court , I give my best; 110 per cent; but I am excited and I am waiting and ready for the challenge," she stated..
