Semi-final day in St Ann

Defending champions Couples Tower Isle will meet North East Regional Health Authority (NERHA), while Gran Bahía Principe will clash with St Ann Development Company (SADCo) in the semi-finals of the Sandals Resorts International-sponsored St Ann-St Mary Business House football competition at Drax Hall today.

Couples, the dominant team in the league all season, chalking up 32 goals while conceding three, will play in the feature match at 6 p.m. against NERHA.

NERHA have had a great season, finishing second in their zone on 15 points, just one behind Gran Bahía. However, they have been finding goals hard to come by. Couples will be led by top striker Mauracio Gordon, Gregory Tate, Dwayne Silvera, Carlos Smith.

The opening match at 4 p.m. will be anybody's game. Gran Bahía have five wins and one draw. They have scored 17 goals with just five against. Kirk Ramsay, Imani Beckford and Devon Ward are the standout players for the Gran Bahía team.

SADCo will enter the semi-finals brimming with confidence, despite a recent 4-2 loss to Couples Tower Isle. Strikers Segree Murray and Micah Terroade, goalkeeper Claydon Ennis, Kevin Graham and Marlon Buckley are the key players for the team many see as possible champions.

"We are looking forward to two keenly contested semi-finals," noted Danny Beckford, president of the St Ann Business House Football Association. "The standard has been very high and we expect some exciting football on Wednesday."
