Madman enters police station, puts on vest

An investigation is now under way into how a man, believed to be of unsound mind, managed to enter the Hunts Bay Police Station and puts on a vest.

It is said that the sick man was only discovered after he went into the guard room in a police vest and said "Beg unnu a $20 nuh."

The 29-year-old man's mother said he is constantly running away from home. She said that there needs to be some help for her mentally ill son.

Expressed concern

Meanwhile, the man was released from police custody without being charged. Police personnel at the station have expressed concern about the situation.

"Lawd Jesus, dah one yah hot like lava. Yu no si di madman want fi tek over duty a di station," a corporal said.

The view was echoed by several colleagues throughout the police divisions.

Personnel are of the view that with a high threat level against the police, the authorities should use more precautions.
