Robber targets children in Angels community

Residents of Angels are complaining about a criminal who preys upon children.

THE WEEKEND STAR was informed that the man's modus operandi is to ride on a bicycle throughout the community and target children, robbing them of money and mostly cellular phones.

"The tiefing man just ride on his bicycle, he then used his gun to rob the pickney dem of them cellular phone, especially at nights," Michael, a resident of the community, said.

The last reported incident occurred earlier this week, the residents told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Smartphone stolen

It is said that, on Monday, two children were walking along Blue Avenue, when they were pounced upon by the hoodlum. He proceeded to rob one of the children of a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

"We understand that other sections of the scheme are affected by this man's behaviour, the thing is, he gets away each time he strikes," a female resident said.

It was the view of some residents that he seems to know the area very well.

When contacted, the Spanish Town police confirmed that they have received reports of the robbery which took place earlier this week and said investigations are under way. The police also revealed that they have also received reports of other robberies in the area and said patrols will be increased.
