Clan Carthy High's football coach, Mallawe Blake, has been banned for three years by the disciplinary committee of the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA).

In a release yesterday, ISSA said Blake was disciplined for his role in a fracas following a match against Tivoli Gardens High last Friday at the Alpha Boys Home football field.

According to ISSA, the referees were physically and verbally abused by the coach and players - Daekwon Robinson, Lloyd Fearon, Anthony Boothe and Kemar Pinnock.

The three have also been suspended from participating in any ISSA-organised competition for one year. The school has since withdrawn from the competition.

Two-year ban

Coach Patrick McPherson of McGrath High was also suspended. He was slapped with a two-year ban. He was charged with physically abusing the referee during a daCosta Cup match between McGrath and Charlemont, which was played at McGrath on Thursday, September 24.

Also in the daCosta Cup, Spalding High's assistant coaches Karay Ramsay and Tevin Dixon were suspended for three and two matches, respectively, for verbally abusing the referees in a match on Monday, in which Christiana beat Spalding 3-2.

In another incident after a Manning's versus Petersfield match, Kenroy Hamilton of Petersfield and Rodain Smith of Manning's picked up three-match bans for their involvement in a post-game brawl. Damain Martin and Maliki Reid, also of Manning's, picked up two-match suspensions for their role in the incident. Another Manning's player, Lassano Bruce, was found not guilty.
