Moonie British killed

Moonie British, a high-ranking member of the popular British Link Up Crew, was shot on Saturday night and succumbed to his injuries yesterday.

Reports are that Moonie British, 48, whose given name is Wayne Morris, was sitting at a bar on Lorraine Avenue, St Andrew, when two armed men approached about 11:40 p.m. and opened fire hitting him. They then fled the scene.

Moonie British was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The Half-Way Tree police have not yet established a motive for the killing, neither have they identified any suspect(s).

The British Link Up Crew is popular within the dancehall circles for their promotion of dancehall events in Jamaica and Britain. It is headed by Owen Clarke, also known as Father Fowl.
