Four injured in car crash
Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

Investigators from the Accident Reconstruction Unit were still investigating what caused a car crash near the Old Harbour section of the Vineyards Toll Road yesterday.

Reports are that about 3:45 p.m., a Nissan motor car was travelling towards Spanish Town, when, about 400 metres from the Toll Plaza, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the car ran off the road, broke through a metal fence and travelled about 100 metres, where it slammed into a concrete wall. The vehicle was extensively damaged, resulting in serious injuries to the four occupants.

"We only hear a loud bang and when we come out a pure blood and bruk up people we see," a resident said.

Police personnel told The Star that initial investigation showed that the accident was as a result of speeding.

The damaged vehicle is being removed by a wrecker.
