Labourer charged with common-law wife's murder

A St Catherine man who was accused of killing his common-law wife has been charged with murder.

Dead is Charmain Duncan, 48-year-old labourer of Mount View, St Catherine. Charged with murder is Marvin James of the same address.

James was held in Clarendon, recently. He was charged yesterday following a question and answer session at the Spanish Town Police Station.

He is said to have driven away from the scene and was driving along a section of Highway 2000, when he crashed. James was taken to the May Pen Hospital in Clarendon,where he was admitted.

Investigations by the Spanish Town police led to his arrest in hospital.

He has since been transferred to the Spanish Town police lock-up. The accused is to answer to the charge on May 22,in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court.
